The wife of Bauchi State governor, Dr Aishatu Bala Mohammed, has narrated a disturbing case of incest and sexual abuse involving a father who impregnated his biological daughter twice. Addressing newsmen on the state government’s effort to combat sexual and gender-based violence, Dr Aishatu said the daughter, who was separated from her father at a young age, was reunited with him after her mother’s death.

In a statement released by the Fire Service spokesman, Saminu Abdullahi, the agency disclosed that they responded to 43 fire calls, six false alarms, and five rescue operations from their 29 fire stations across the state. Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has clarified that his administration has not been borrowing to fund governance, contrary to reports circulating in some quarters. The Ogun State police command said it has arrested a student-teacher for allegedly injuring and causing an 11-year-old pupil to lose her right eye. The victim, Alao Idera, is a primary six student of Owiwi Nursery and Primary School in the Obada Oko, area of the State. It was reported that the teacher, Adeola Adeyemo, is a 400-level student of the OGUN state-owned Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode, undergoing her teaching practice programme at the school.

The victims of the blast lie life less by the roadside as passersby looked on in shock and despair. Residents of Dansadau told newsmen that the suspected terrorists planted the explosives along the road that connects Dansadau to other parts of the state. A resident of the area Abdullahi Dansadau, said a Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicle stepped off the planted bomb and exploded, killing six persons and injuring eight others.
