Sümeyra has departed for her eternal home. She was a 15-year-old girl in Turkey. She was both a sister and a mother to her two siblings. She had epilepsy. But it wasn’t her illness that killed her — it was the tyranny of the Turkey’s AKP that roams freely in this country, the massive injustice, the lack of conscience, and the human tragedy that took her life. This is not an ordinary death. On the contrary, it’s murder.

Sümeyra ebedi yurduna göç etti. 15 yaşında bir kız çocuğuydu. İki kardeşine hem ablalık hem annelik yapıyordu. Epilepsi hastasıydı. Fakat Sümeyra’yı hastalık değil, memlekette kol gezen AKP zulmü, devasa hukuksuzluk, vicdansızlık ve insanlık trajedisi öldürdü. Bu sıradan bir ölüm değil. Aksine bir cinayet. Katili de işbirlikçileri de belli…Tututlu olan annesi Melek Gelir, Sümeyra’nın mezarına kelepçeli ellerle götürüldü. Kızının yasını dahi tutamadan tekrar cezaevine kondu.

I was fortunate to be one of the first to hear his will, which he had written in Ottoman Turkish. As Abdullah Aymaz Hodja read it aloud slowly and deliberately, everyone present bowed their heads, lost in deep thought. There were no sobbing cries, but some let their tears flow down their cheeks, revealing their sadness, while others swallowed their cries, lost in endless dreams.
