South Korean defense firm LIG Nex1 Co. announced on Tuesday that it is participating in the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), where it will showcase its advanced guided weapon systems. The company said it will exhibit three missile systems, including the medium-altitude surface-to-air missile KM-SAM, also called Cheon-gung, and the ship-based interceptor K-SAAM (Hae-gung), at Malaysia’s largest maritime and aerospace exhibition.

Hanwha Corp., the parent company of and largest stakeholder in Hanwha Aerospace Co., will invest 980 billion won ($666.9 million) in the defense firm’s capital increase, using all new shares to be allocated based on its 33.9 percent stake. Hanwha announced that its board of directors approved the decision to endorse its defense affiliate’s paid-in capital increase.
