Victoria Woodward, 38, and Connor Thompson had been feuding in the street at pub closing time when she suddenly struck him in Warrington, Cheshire. BBC boss Tim Davie has suggested the licence fee should be hiked - just weeks after it rose to a new high of £174.50. The Director General has pushed for the Government - including Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy - to give extra backing to the corporation for its services, as he complained about a decade of 'grinding' cuts. The suspected dine-and-dashers ordered an array of food which included a chicken curry and tandoori butter chicken, priced at £11.95 and £12.95 respectively.

RIP, the SLP. When on neighbouring sort-of rival the Croydon Ad, would envy that South London Press patch and how counterparts bound for the nationals but cherishing the power of locals way back then'd produce a punchy, packed, hell of a twice-weekly read. Sorry for all affected.

Since it's season ticket deadline day - renewed again, olé, olé. Champions League football, and surely we can't finish any lower in the Premier League next season than this one just gone - *surely*?...oh. Hm. #COYS https://t.co/Oqj68lWbm0
