While the midterm elections are a little over 17 months away, Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie just picked up another endorsement in his bid to unseat Pennsylvania 1st Congressional District’s Republican incumbent Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick. According to the Harvie Campaign, he has already been endorsed by 28 current and former elected officials from across Pennsylvania. Now there is another to add to that list: former PA Congressman Matt Cartwright.

With tax season come and gone, the Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC) is celebrating saving clients $500,000 in tax preparation fees and bringing nearly $2.3 million back into the community. BCOC’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, or VITA, prepared 1,577 tax returns this year, which saved taxpayers half a million dollars in tax preparer fees.

In the aftermath of the 2024 election, many people who were outraged at the idea of Donald Trump getting back into the White House decided that they needed to do something to oppose him. According to the founders of Indivisible, Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin, tens of thousands of people joined a zoom call after the election to see what they can do. What people did not do, however, was go out to vote in large numbers for the primaries in Pennsylvania on May 20.
