GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - The splash park at Dos Rios in Grand Junction is now open. The final feature of the Dos Rios Park will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is expected to close on September 30th for the winter season and reopen in May 2025. To access the park, users must activate a green button, which was implemented to create a controlled environment. The park features jets, geysers, and two water sources designed to mirror the joining of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A crash near the I-70 exit ramp in the Loma area slowed traffic earlier Monday afternoon. Shortly after 11:30 a.m. Colorado State Patrol (CSP) received a call regarding a heavily damaged vehicle with a camper attached. When first responders arrived on the scene they discovered a vehicle flipped upside down with debris scattered across the roadway. Two people were taken to the hospital as a result of the crash.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a verbal dispute. The incident occurred in the area of North 13th Street and Glenwood Avenue on early Saturday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. The incident involved a man and a woman yelling in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The man retrieved a gun from his vehicle in an attempt to threaten the woman.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - On August 16th, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to Canyon View Park for a possible shooting. At approximately 2:05 a.m. when officers arrived at the park, they discovered victims that were robbed at gunpoint. GJPD confirmed that shots were fired in their direction but no one was injured. Officers were able to locate a suspected vehicle that contained two adults and a juvenile.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - On May 13th, deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to a report of an assault that happened at the Grand Valley Transit Transfer Station in Clifton. When deputies arrived on the scene they discovered a 51-year-old man lying near the railroad tracks. He was immediately transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital and was treated for severe head and face injuries.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Crime Stoppers of Mesa County need the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in the theft of a wallet. On Thursday, July 11th, sometime between 9:50 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. a wallet was stolen from an elderly person while shopping at the Vitamin Cottage. Shortly after the theft occurred credit cards from the wallet were used to buy over $3,700 worth of merchandise from Best Buy, Kohls, and Target.
