1. Introductionγ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a non-protein amino acid that is widely found in nature [1]. As a functional factor, GABA has been proven to be safe for consumption. It has been widely studied for its various physiological functions such as reducing stress and aiding sleep [2], and oral consumption of GABA-enrich foods has been shown to have antihypertensive and antidepressant properties [3].
