The superb Naim Mu-so 2nd generation wireless speaker system is a great example of a flexible yet sophisticated all-in-one set-up. First and foremost, it is a hi-fi system, but it can also connect to your TV via HDMI and boost your flatscreen's sound so you get levels of sophistication, detail and refinement well above what any TV can deliver. And it is available for just £899 at John Lewis, Peter Tyson and Sevenoaks, which marks a saving of more than 20 per cent.

The sound quality, ANC and battery life are all very good or outstanding, but the slightly safe sonic profile, some usability issues and missing features mean they're not quite ready to compete with the best.

Hisense has announced its new CanvasTV is now available to order in the US. The lifestyle TV is a similar idea to The Frame by Samsung, however, the key difference to write home about is how much cheaper the CanvasTV is. The 65-inch model costs $1300, while the 55-inch model will be coming later this summer with an expected price of £999. For comparison, Samsung's The Frame is priced at $1499 and $1999 for the same sizes.
