A changing climate is actively impacting our communities, infrastructure, ecosystems and economies by increasing the aggregate of future risks at national and global levels. To manage these risks and associated impacts, we need to understand the performance of built and natural infrastructure and how to best use each. The latter are often referred to as nature-based solutions: actions to protect, sustainably manage or restore natural or modified ecosystems.
