Mumbai: In a major crackdown amid the Maharashtra assembly election season, Mumbai Police, along with a special surveillance team, seized approximately 6.5 tonnes of silver bricks from a van travelling northbound on the Eastern Express Highway near the Godrej Ghoda Gate Signal. As per market value, the total worth of the silver bricks could be over Rs. 65 crores.

Mumbai: A 35-year-old woman, a relative of a patient admitted to Rajawadi Hospital, has been arrested by Tilak Nagar Police for allegedly assaulting doctors and staff in the ICU. According to the police, the complainant in the case is Dr. Yogita Choudhari, a 40-year-old medical officer who has been with Rajawadi Hospital since 2016. The incident began after a patient, 28-year-old Prakash Ravindra Sonawane, was admitted to the hospital with symptoms of fever, loose motions, and disorientation.

Mumbai: A toddler was allegedly murdered by her stepfather in Mankhurd. The incident came to light in the early hours of Friday when the child’s mother returned home from work and discovered her daughter dead. The accused, a tempo driver, has been arrested by Mankhurd Police. According to police, the toddler’s mother married the accused several months ago in her second marriage. They began living together in Mankhurd’s Anna Bhau Sathe area.

Mumbai: The Vikhroli police have registered an FIR against Sunil Raut, the brother of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, for controversial remarks made against Suvarna Karanje, a political rival from the Vikhroli Assembly constituency. During an election rally, Raut allegedly referred to Karanje as a “scapegoat” that would be “slaughtered” on November 20. The incident took place in Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli East on October 27 and FIR was registered on November 4.
