PURPOSE: Increased automation has been identified as one approach to improving global cancer care. The Radiation Planning Assistant (RPA) is a web-based tool offering automated radiotherapy (RT) contouring and planning to low-resource clinics. In this study, the RPA workflow and clinical acceptability were assessed by physicians around the world.

As Lord Ara Darzi undertakes his independent review of the UK National Health Service (NHS), cancer must be firmly embedded at the top of his agenda. The future cancer inquiry , conducted by the Health and Social Care Select Committee at Westminster (London, UK), did not have time to produce its final report before the prorogation of parliament on May 25, 2024, for the UK's general election on July 4, 2024.

On Jan 24, 2023, England became the only high-income country in which a national cancer control plan (NCCP)—in place since September, 2000—was not a central pillar of national health policy. This policy is at odds with all other devolved nations of the UK.Instead, the then Secretary of State for Health, the Rt Hon Steven Barclay, announced that cancer would be subsumed into a Major Conditions Strategy (MCS).
