KEJAA tours Mwea rice growing areas in exchange programme

The Kenya Japan Alumni Association (KEJAA) made a three-day tour to the KALRO Mwea and National Irrigation Authority (NIA). According to the association, the tour was meant to promote exchanges between Kenyans who have visited Japan for study or training. The Embassy of Japan sponsored the field tour of the Mwea rice-growing areas for the alumni association of the many Kenyans who have studied in Japan.
KDF boxer promoted for good performance in All African Games

The Kenya Defense Forces Corporal Edwin Okong'o has been awarded The Certificate of Commanders Commendation and promoted to sergeant. The corporal, who is based in the Wajir Air Base (WAB), participated as a boxer in the 13th All African Games held in Ghana. KDF reported that Okong'o became the first boxer from East and Central Africa to win a gold medal in the sport in 17 years. He received the promotion and commendation from Kenya Air Force (KAF) Commander Major General John Omenda.

The Electricity Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK) says that the inclusion of captive power installations will help Kenya achieve 100 per cent clean energy by 2030. Speaking during a conference in Nairobi on Wednesday, ESAK Chairperson Eddy Njoroge said that Commercial and Industrial (C&I) installations will be a key enabler for sustainability.

Moi University cancels all academic trips after bus accident

Moi University Vice Chancellor Isaac Kosgey has cancelled all academic trips for students after the university's bus was involved in a road accident on Wednesday. In a statement dated March 27, Kosgey said that the school would resume their academic trips after the Easter holidays. A bus ferrying Moi University students to Mombasa on a four-day field trip was involved in what the VC termed as 'a non-fatal traffic accident' at the Kimende area on the Nakuru - Nairobi Highway.

The Kenya National Highways Authority has provided alternative route options for revelers heading to Naivasha ahead of the World Rally Championships (WRC). "With the World Rally Championship zooming into town this Easter, we are gearing up for an adrenaline–packed weekend. Usikwame kwa jam. We’ve got your back with some exciting alternative routes," KENHA wrote on X. The routes, according to KENHA are; the scenic route, the adventure route, the Thika trail and the Suswa shortcut.

Musician Otile Brown on Tuesday delivered a heartfelt rendition of his hit song 'One Call' at TikToker Brian Chira's funeral. He took the stage and sang the song as the mourners sang along with him to the song. "One call away Call me if you need me. Shujaa wako. I'm only one call away," they sang. The singer had earlier offered to perform the song at Chira's funeral acknowledging the deceased's love for the song.
'Enough is enough'! Nakuru doctors protest posting of interns

Doctors in Nakuru took to the streets on Tuesday to protest in solidarity with their counterparts in other counties. Wearing their coats and surgical caps, the doctors marched along the streets, singing 'Uninyunyizie maji' which caused traffic snarls-ups. They are protesting among other things the posting of medical interns, fair pay for interns and medical doctors and comprehensive medical cover all of which are outlined in a collective Bargaining Agreement made in 2017.

NTV journalist and the chairman of Rita Tinina's burial committee Duncan Khaemba has revealed that Tinina's friends have hired a Range Rover hearse to carry her body from the mortuary to her home in Kajiado. Speaking during Tinina's requiem mass on Monday at the Holy Family Basilica, Khaemba said that this was done so that four of Tinina's friends could fulfil a plan made earlier.
