There are many scenarios in development/devops where we need to use multiple versions of Python running on the VM. Last week, I faced a challenge deploying Lambda functions with Python 3.10 runtime. I needed to test Terraform code locally on a Linux environment to avoid Mac-related compatibility issues( numpy, psycopg2, etc, packages compiled in mac doesn't work with AWS Lambda ). Our EC2 VM, running Amazon Linux 2023, had Python 3.9 installed. Terraform failed due to this version mismatch.
