Here’s a mid-week cartoon that I canned due to my own internal censorship. This morning, I woke up to the news that yesterday the Louvre shut down due to frustration with crowd sizes. In my own selfish way, I silently hoped that it was still shuttered leading to prime cartoon fodder. I’m not that desperate for topics… and it was only a silent hope… but a surrendering flag in France would work nicely as a cartoon prop. They got their act together, the panic receded, and they quickly reopened.

I realized yesterday that I have literal bats in my belfry. Four of the furry critters made a home in our attic. A tad unnerving when all you have is a small flashlight as you disturb flying mammals. And me without a facemask. But they’ll be handled humanly. My plan has started with additional light. Today’s a very special Saturday edition! Well, special because the week has been really busy but mostly fun with guests from Europe, our own travel, and plenty of outdoors time, but I also had to deal with a cartoon technical issue (yes, there’s technology involved). My cartoon syndicate is having IT issues with the distribution of my work. I’ve been with them for over four years without any issues so no complaining here as they work out the bugs.

The Democrats are simply embarrassing themselves. The only thing they prove with their lack of self awareness is their inauthenticity. https://t.co/Bcncc9SokM

A recent article discussed the Democrats’ efforts at a “post-mortem” to better understand why they lost so surprisingly (at least to them) in the last election. Then my post-mortem - medical metaphor - doctor - witch doctor mental meandering led to this cartoon. It works https://t.co/I05nc3VHa0

Senility comes with making poor decisions. It also comes with people willing to exploit the elderly. Dr. Jill, that's even worse than poor decisions.
