The families of Buck'n Good Donuts owners Sam Walker and Borath Poeung escaped from the Cambodian Civil War. “God has given us a chance. (In the U.S.) everyone has a chance. You either take it or you don’t,” Sam Walker says. At the Powell location, the seating area opens at 6 a.m. and closes when everything is sold or at 5 p.m., whichever comes first. The shop is closed Mondays.

After surviving the Cambodian Civil War, Sam Walker and her husband, Borath Poeung, felt they were destined for something great. “God had a purpose for us,” Poeung said the nightmare of the early 1970s. “Everything we have is a blessing,” said Walker. “God has given us a chance. (In the U.S.) everyone has a chance. You either take it or you don’t.”The chance Poeung and Walker are taking is in Powell. In early April, they opened their second doughnut shop, Buck'n Good Donuts, at 7327 Clinton Highway.

Recently graduated from Halls High SchoolAs a sophomore and junior, Satterfield continued her soccer career as a midfielder and center-forward, but placed most of her emphasis on wrestling. With the fundamentals committed to memory, Satterfield’s junior year was her breakout year. She won her first 29 matches leading up to the state championship battle. It took a hard knock to the head to finally get Sophia Satterfield onto a wrestling mat. Since she got there, it has been hard to get her to leave.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Chaz Lanier scored 23 points to lead No. 4 Tennessee to a 75-65 victory over South Carolina on Saturday. The Volunteers (25-6, 12-6 Southeastern Conference) wrapped up a double bye for the SEC Tournament. Cade Phillips came off the bench to score 15 points, Igor Milicic had 13 and Jordan Gainey added 10 points. Tennessee led by 10 points midway through the first half. South Carolina rallied with a 12-3 run. Thomas had 14 points and the score was tied at 34 at halftime.
