My work in Seattle on affordable housing issues dates to 1969. After graduating with a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Washington, I became the first housing planner at the predecessor agency to the Puget Sound Regional Council. Over the next 54 years, I served in a variety of positions, including deputy executive director of Seattle Housing Authority, where I was responsible for housing development and asset management.
