Players went about their business with stretching, blocking drills, defensive backs, receivers and all the other positions going through their routines like any other year. Eagles’ fans remember Haason Reddick from Temple and Haddon Heights high school. He's an All Pro who helped the Birds win an NFC title in 2022. This year, two quarterback hunters from the area were selected in the first round of the NFL draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles took a chance picking an injured but talented player out of Alabama in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. Offensive lineman Landon Dickerson rewarded the Eagles with three Pro Bowl selections, two NFC Championships and a Super Bowl win last February. It was just the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. Eagles Executive vice president/general manager Howie Roseman rolled the dice again this year with another injured but talented player from Alabama.

It's been quite a year for Eagles starting center Cam Jurgens. In 2024, he finally got to play the position the Eagles drafted him to play. He was out from under the massive shadow of future Hall of Fame center Jason Kelce. He made the most of it. The former Nebraska standout started all 16 games the Birds used their starters, was selected to the Pro Bowl and helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LIX.

One of the most pleasant surprises of the Philadelphia Eagles championship season was the outstanding play of linebacker Zack Baun. Baun had toiled in relative anonymity for four years in New Orleans, mostly playing on special teams.
