The trial judge in this case against Trump, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, now has an opportunity to restore the principle that no man is above the law. She can do so by upholding Special Counsel Jack Smith’s revised indictment of Donald Trump for obstruction of the 2020 election.

After listening to two and half hours of oral argument in the Donald Trump immunity case, it is perfectly clear what the Supreme Court should decide: namely, as little as possible. In other words, the Supreme Court should set a different tack for themselves than making an immunity decision “for the ages,” as Justice Neil Gorsuch suggested.
