Last year, JW3, London’s Jewish Community Centre, put on its first-ever pantomime Red Riding Hood And The Big Bad Pig claiming it was the country’s only Jewish panto. It was an enormous success and this year they’ve followed it up with Goldie Frocks And The Bear Mitzvah which after seeing it last night, threatens to be an even bigger success.

“Immersive” is the current buzzword for all sorts of entertainment and it’s bandied around with great aplomb. Companies such as Punchdrunk and Secret Cinema have made it very popular and if you’re going to see Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (formerly the Playhouse Theatre), you’re advised to get there early as there’s lot going on around the main auditorium.

The legendary Marquee Club started its life as a jazz club in Oxford Street before moving to 90 Wardour Street in 1964 where it remained until it finally closed its doors at that address in 1988. During its lifetime, acts such as the Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and Queen were amongst the thousands of acts who played at this iconic venue during those 24 years – it really was the best-loved music venue in London and thoroughly deserved its worldwide reputation.
