The wireless business in the U.S. is so competitive that if you try to sneak something into an advertisement that might not be 100% verifiable, one of your rivals will swiftly take matters up with the National Advertising Division (NAD) industry watchdog. The NAD's job is to ensure that national ads are truthful and accurate. Recently T-Mobile spilled the beans on Verizon over the latter's ads mentioning its satellite texting service and the size of its network.

It sounds unbelievable, but the unveiling of the new iPhone 17 series is only about two and a half months away. The spotlight will be on the rumored new ultra-thin iPhone model that has been dubbed the iPhone 17 Air. This model reportedly will be powered by the A19 application processor (AP), not the A19 Pro AP. It also will supposedly feature 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM which is just enough to allow the phone to support Apple Intelligence.

Right at the beginning of this month, we passed along a look at an update for the Google Phone app that was found hidden in a beta version of that app. Now, a new report mentions that the app is getting a redesign based on the Material 3 Expressive design language. Users will be able to answer calls with a horizontal swipe or with a single tap.

Last year AT&T suffered through data breaches that exposed personal data belonging to tens of millions of the carrier's customers. That led to a class action lawsuit being filed against the wireless provider by AT&T subscribers. The nation's third-largest carrier eventually agreed to settle the class-action lawsuit for the tidy sum of $177 million and on Friday the settlement was approved by U.S. District Judge Ada Brown in Dallas. Brown called the settlement fair and reasonable.

Code sleuth AssembleDebug went searching through the latest version of the Gboard app for Android (version 15.5.5.766552071-beta-arm64-v8a) and found some hidden treasure in the form of possible new features. One possible new addition would be a favorites list where you can save your top emoji combinations created using the Emoji Kitchen feature. As you might recall, the Emoji Kitchen combines two different emoji at your request often with some seriously funny results.
