Celtic’s sixth five-goal offering in 12 matches. They are now on 111 league goals and 157 for the season. The 2016-17 Invincibles managed 106. Aberdeen looked bereft. Much pressing but not for long and with half-arsed intensity bar quite a few naughty late ones. Celtic revealed nothing of their Cup Final approach but do not be fooled into thinking the Champions will face other than fully committed opposition at Hampden. Sorting this mess of a side out for Jimmy Thelin can wait until after that.

Kasper Schmeichel is in line to return to Celtic's first team squad for the home match against in-form Hibernian. There is no indication from manager Brendan Rodgers of whether he will return immediately to the front line or whether Viljami Sinisalo will retain the gloves he has held for the last seven matches. You would imagine that whoever is in the manager's mind for the Scottish Cup Final will need to be match-ready.

This has been another incredibly successful season for Celtic, with the May cup final to hopefully cap progress in Europe, a hard-fought League Cup triumph and a dominant league campaign. No side is perfect, even the Invincibles - who remembers draws against Inverness Caley Thistle, Ross County and at home to Partick Thistle? Celtic undoubtedly went through a post-Champions League exit hangover, with the nadir being a loss to bottom club St Johnstone.
