Pennyrile Electric held its 88th annual meeting virtually Tuesday from its corporate office in Hopkinsville, coinciding with the Western Kentucky State Fair, and later announced the results of three board of director elections. A new face will serve on the Pennyrile Electric Board of Directors after Mindy Hargrove narrowly defeated longtime director Joe Rogers 524 to 521 to claim the Cumberland District Seat.

Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathon Shell and Office of Ag Policy Director Brandon Reed joined the Kentucky Ag Development Board Friday in Franfkort to kick off the 25th anniversary celebration. The meeting and kickoff celebration was held at the Kentucky History Center, which is the same place the first meeting was held twenty five years ago. Commissioner Shell saluted the efforts of Kentucky Office of Ag Policy Director Brandon Reed, who was involved with the entity at the beginning.

Although Hopkinsville FFA member Madeline Macario wasn’t one of the top three in the Kentucky FFA Shark Tank competition at the State FFA Convention, she did earn a shout out from the UK men’s basketball coach. Hopkinsville FFA Chapter Secretary Madelin Macario recently competed in the final round of the Shark Tank Grant competition at Kentucky FFA State Convention. Macario received $1,000 to go towards her business from contest sponsor Farm Credit Mid-America.
