Mireia Benito (AG Insurance-Soudal) has secured her third straight Spanish National Time Trial Champion's title for a third straight year despite facing a radically different course to other years, a 14 kilometre uphill TT with 727 metres of vertical climbing. The time trial was run off in extreme heat on the slopes of Sierra Nevada in southern Spain, with temperatures reaching the mid-30s in the afternoon, and with the last four kilometres more than 2,000 metres above sea level.

UAE Team Emirates-XRG have confirmed their 2025 line-up for the fast-approaching Tour de France, where Tadej Pogačar will fight to join Chris Froome as the winner of four editions of cycling's biggest bike race. There are no changes to the UAE riders already announced back in the winter as provisionally due to be on the startline in Lille on July 5 alongside Pogačar. In fact, there's just one alteration to the line-up that proved so successful for UAE in last summer's race.

Defending French national time trial champion Bruno Armirail (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) successfully defended his title against a concerted push for gold by Tour de Suisse runner-up Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B&B Hotels). Armirail's up-and-coming young teammate, Paul Seixas, secured another top result this season with bronze, 44 seconds back. Already the winner both in 2022 and 2024, Armirail got off to a scorching start on the rolling 26.5 kilometre course at Les Herbiers.
