Haas entered Formula 1 to prove that a team can be run on a low-cost budget and still be competitive. They would do this through sponsorships, outsourcing, and partnerships. Haas entered F1 in 2016. Their low-cost project began by buying the collapsed Marussia F1 team HQ.

The question remains, why not Africa? F1 has ventured into Africa before but only until 1993. The South African GP was first run in 1934. There was a period from 1986 to 1991 where the race was not run due to ongoing issues within the country.

Promoting empathy and self interestBefore I left UK Higher Education, to become an independent intellectual, I taught on the UK's leading program focused on Global Sustainable Development (B.A.Sc.). As part of that work I regularly contributed to teaching about our shared and growing Climate Emergency. Moreover, I worked hard to persuade students to become involved in resisting environmental threat and potential physical and social collapse, even as they participated in their learning.
