(First Alert 4) - For a group of third through fifth grade boys at Carman Trails Elementary, running is more than just an after-school activity -- it is a lesson in confidence, teamwork, and personal growth. The students are part of Let Me Run, a national nonprofit that encourages young boys to develop both physically and emotionally. The program uses running as a tool to promote mental health and build friendships.

They said it’s all a labor of love through archiving, documenting and processing. Walking into the Cape Girardeau County History Center in Jackson is a sight that can take you back. “These are just human interest stories that I have clipped,” said Mary Jo Shelton, librarian.
