1 The Basque city of Bilbao is preparing for an invasion of English fans ahead of the Europa League final next Wednesday. The showpiece event will take place between Premier League sides Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Athletic Club dreamed of playing the final in their home city but the Red Devils quashed those hopes with a 7-1 aggregate victory in the semi-finals. Spurs reached the final by easing to a 5-1 aggregate victory over Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.

The Red Devils have made the signing of a number nine a major priority after an appalling season in front of goal in the Premier League. United are reported to be in “pole position” to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap but have also been credited with an interest in attackers such as Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.

2 Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has posted a picture of himself in FC United of Manchester’s green and gold shirt. The United legend played 185 times for the Red Devils, scoring 82 goals. He was an integral part of United’s return to the top of the English football pyramid in the 1990s. The charismatic star played an instrumental part in the Red Devils winning the league title four times in the five seasons he was at the club.

1 Manchester United’s former stars Gary Neville and David Beckham have released 17 players at Salford City. The club was taken over by Neville, his brother Phil, Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes in 2014. The new structure saw original success as the club rose through the divisions but they have been unable to get out of League Two over the last few seasons. Salford finished in eighth position this year in the table, narrowly missing out on a playoff place.
