European games firm Embracer Group lost over 1,800 staff during its last financial year. That's according to its annual report – as spotted by Game Developer – in which the company disclosed that its headcount was 1,857 staff lower at the end of its 24/25 financial year compared to 23/24. This followed Embracer Group seeing around 1,400 workers losing their jobs during the previous fiscal year.

The co-founder of Playdead, Dino Patti, has said that the studio is now suing him. Speaking to Danish outlet Arkaden, the industry vet said that the Limbo maker is taking him to court. This follows Patti putting up a post on LinkedIn about Limbo's development, including an "unauthorised" picture from its creation owned by co-founder Arnt Jenson. This resulted in the studio demanding 500,000 DKK ($77,000) in compensation.

Developer The Chinese Room has seemingly made a small number of its staff redundant. GamesIndustry.biz reports that some employees have posted on LinkedIn saying that they are looking for work, while another roughly ten staff are down as looking for work. Asked for comment, The Chinese Room neither confirmed whether layoffs had taken place or how many staff had been affected by them. "The Chinese Room will share news on changes for the studio in the coming weeks," studio director Ed Daly said.

Games veteran Hideo Kojima has said that smaller development teams are his preference. Speaking at a press event – as reported by Dexerto – the industry icon called out the recently-released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for its small team size. Obviously it's worth noting that while the core team at Sandfall Interactive was about 30 members strong, the RPG's credits list hundreds of staff from outsourcing companies. “When I first started, it was like a team of six,” Kojima said.

The founder of mods hub, Nexus Mods, is leaving the outfit after it has "changed hands". In a post, Robin "Dark0ne" Scott said that he had decided to take a step back from the site, something he believed was both in his and "the community's best interest." The new owner goes by the handle 'Foledinho' and has assured users that mods would remain free.
