Last updated 27 March 2025 Apple has added representations of indigenous lands in Australia to its Maps app, highlighting indigenous place names, reserves, and protected areas. As part of the changes, searching for the traditional name of a town or city will bring up that result. Entering Meanjin will bring up Brisbane, for example.

Last updated 03 February 2025 Foxtel's suite of streaming apps - including Binge, Kayo, LifeStyle, and Flash - will no longer work in "very remote" parts of Australia from March 3 onward. Customers who want to keep watching this content will need to move to a traditional Foxtel subscription or Foxtel Now. Existing customers who use the impacted streaming services exclusively in very remote regions will have their subscriptions automatically cancelled on March 3.
Telstra customers no longer need ID for select mobile plans

Last updated 31 January 2025 Customers signing up to select Telstra mobile plans will no longer need to share personal ID documents, provided they bank with CBA, NAB, ANZ, or Westpac. This is thanks to new technology called ConnectID that connects organisations that need to verify people's identity - such as Telstra - with existing trusted sources of information, like a bank. The aforementioned banks now all support ConnectID.
