    (WPDE) — Hot weather from the weekend continues into early this week. Expect a hot day with partly sunny skies and humid conditions. Highs will be in the mid 80s for the coast with upper 80s to near 90 degrees inland. Sunday will be hot and partly sunny. Expect highs around 90 degrees inland with mid 80s for the beaches. Sunday night will be warm and humid with lows in the mid 60s inland and lower 70s for the coast. Sunday night will be warm and humid overnight.

    Every Thursday, the Drought Monitor website updates and the Carolinas continue with below average precipitation that has led to continuing or worsening drought. Drought Monitor Update (April 24th). The data shown is valid up to April 22nd. Many parts of the Carolinas are still drier than normal, with a tongue of severe trough extended from the Grand Strand northeast toward parts of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Inland zones have seen some relief, though more rain is still needed.
