WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate approved Friday night a bipartisan bill that would exempt D.C. from a series of budget cuts included in the GOP funding measure approved earlier this week. The spending bill, known as a continuing resolution (CR) would essentially treat the District as a federal agency. Under the legislation, the city would be forced to revert to its fiscal year 2024 budget.
