Years of awkwardness and self-doubt taught me something fascinating:Our behaviours reflect how we think about ourselves. Not only that, but how we think of ourselves also reflects our behaviours. It’s a two-way loop. This means that small actions make a massive difference to our self-respect. Here are the habits that helped me:Show genuine kindness (you can find it). Chuckle when someone says a joke. Write someone a thank you text. Take a moment to comment on someone’s blog post.

(it marked a huge change)I re-read the article until I forgot why I wrote it in the first place. Was I really going through with publishing this? It was undoubtedly a bold view. For the first time, my heart raced because of something I’d written. I knew some people would read this and be angry. I knew I’d likely attract troll comments. I knew many would unfollow me. A soft breeze brushes my neck as I scribble thoughts in my notebook. I’m eavesdropping again on the next table. It’s one of my favourite things ever. Especially when the sun is out, and it’s cool. 40 years hurtling through space on a massive ball of dirt taught me a lot. After making the same mistakes over and over again, there comes a point where you have to take the L and learn from it. There’s so much I did out of immaturity and lack of awareness that stole my natural sense of joy and confidence. Here are some big ones to avoid:It isn’t life that’s hard, but your thoughts that make it so. Realise this, and make a pact with yourself to be light as you tread this short time on Earth.

10 boundaries you can set today for a better lifeThey told you freedom was about having no rules. Do what you want. Work whenever you feel like it. Eat cake for breakfast. Be accommodating to it all. But I learned real freedom doesn’t come from saying yes to everything. It comes from setting boundaries. Boundaries ensure you design a life that aligns with your values, has direction, and ultimately energises you. Your energy always comes first.

We’d be a lot less stressed if we were honest.

Society loves it when you turn inward and become self-conscious. The world is chaos, and strong people refuse to be swayed by the bullshit. Focus outward. Make others feel better. Be the boss.

Insecurities dissolve the moment you own them.
