Temple Mills is the maintenance depot for high-speed trains using London St Pancras. As we reported last December, it’s an important facility since any newcomer wishing to compete with Eurostar is unlikely to get off the ground unless it has use of a maintenance facility. The ownership is complex. According to Wikipedia, Temple Mills is owned by EIL. Further searches reveal that EIL stands for Eurostar International Limited which, in turn, is owned by Eurostar Group.

Doha-based Qatar Airways wants to increase the size of its network in Germany. It wants to add service to more destinations. Unlike its Gulf rival Emirates, which is restricted to serving just four destinations in Germany, Qatar Airways has an ASA (Air Services Agreement) which allows it to expand. Right now Qatar Airways serves Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich. Future expansion could see the airline open service to cities like Stuttgart.

Germany’s capital city of Berlin is underserved by long-haul air services. Therefore it is refreshing to learn that Qatar Airways will soon be adding three more flights to its Berlin-Doha schedule, increasing its services from 18 to 21 weekly flights. This will allow the airline to operate a three times daily schedule. The news was announced yesterday by the airline’s CCO Thierry Antinori at the ITB trade fair in Berlin.
