The UK and US agreed to remove import taxes on UK steel weeks ago, but the deal has not been finalised. Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds is meeting with US officials on Tuesday to implement the agreement amid concerns that US President Donald Trump may introduce new tariffs. Mr Trump has announced he would double tariffs on steel to 50 per cent, starting on Wednesday, creating uncertainty about the UK's position.
