CUMBERLAND — Jordyn Sneathen had her no-hitter broken up with one out to go against rival Fort Hill, but that was about the only thing that didn't go Allegany's way Monday. Sneathen struck out the next batter to settle for a complete-game one-hitter, Desi Hilton racked up four RBIs to spur the offense and the second-ranked Campers took down Fort Hill, 8-1, at Washington Middle.

Fort Hill, East Hardy, Mountain Ridge and Southern placed two each on the 2024-25 boys basketball All-Area team, and seven schools were represented. Coaches were asked to submit nominations from their teams for consideration, and the All-Area team was decided at a coaches meeting on Tuesday. CUMBERLAND — For the third straight season, Fort Hill stands alone as the area champion. The Sentinels waded through a highly competitive local season to finish 14-10 and capture the region title, ultimately falling in the Class 1A state quarterfinals to eventual champion Cambridge-South Dorchester.
