TWO naked female German tourists performed lewd sex acts on a Murcia City highway before leading police on a motorway chase for several kilometres. The women, aged 23 and 27, will be sanctioned for indecent exposure, reckless driving, and resisting the police. The La Verdad newspaper said the bizarre events happened last Friday afternoon close to the Nueva Condominia shopping centre and Real Murcia football stadium.

REPORTED crimes in Spain fell by 2.8% in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the same period last year. Figures released on Wednesday by the Interior Ministry revealed that 589,683 crimes had been registered between January and March. Just over a fifth of reported offences revolved around cybercrimes.

AN international criminal gang which ran one of the world’s biggest clandestine crypto banks has been busted by the Policia Nacional. There were two distinct branches of the organisation that had €20 million in the bank with an Arab-based group receiving money from anywhere in the world. Their Chinese colleagues based mainly in the Almeria and Madrid areas got cash from Spain and transferred it out to get commissions paid in cryptocurrencies.

SPAIN’S annual inflation rate clocked in at 2.2% in April- down by 0.1 %- with food inflation at 2%. The National Institute of Statistics (INE) said it was the lowest overall figure since October when it stood at 1.8%. The year-on-year rate reduction is down to a fall in electricity, gas, and petrol prices.

SPAIN’S government has unveiled plans to ban companies from making spam calls to potential customers. An amendment to the Consumer Care Services Act would force landline and mobile phone providers to block such calls from firms that don’t use a specific phone prefix which people could identify in advance. An irony is that many current spam calls tend to come from telecoms companies.
