    In general, we should not weigh patients at every visit. We should thoughtfully and intentionally decide whether weight is relevant to the patient's concerns and the visit at hand. Weighing people at every single medical encounter without discernment, can overemphasize the number on the scale and, for some patients, even cause psychological harm, contributing to body dysmorphia and eating disorders.
