Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia said he was “speechless” after his 11 victories in the 2024 MotoGP season proved not enough to win the world title. Bagnaia added his final triumph of the season with a double victory in Barcelona, having won the sprint on Saturday and Grand Prix on Sunday. He had stayed in contention for the title until the finale, but Jorge Martin’s ninth place was enough to secure him his first world championship, and the first ever for a satellite team.

Jorge Martin revealed that he “started crying” after an “emotional” finale in Barcelona that clinched his first MotoGP world championship. The Spaniard became the first rider to win a world title for a satellite team, beating the previous champion and his main title challenger, Francesco Bagnaia, to glory. World Rugby has introduced four new rules to be tested in 2025 as it attempts to make rugby union faster and more appealing to fans. One of the rules is to give kickers a 60-second window to take their conversion, matching the time limit already set for penalties. Another alteration means that crooked line-out deliveries will not be ruled against if the opposition does not contest the line-out. Line-outs will now be set up within 30 seconds by match officials.
