A YouTube star has been hired by a thinktank supportive of Reform UK as it looks to strengthen Nigel Farage's policy agenda, Sky News can reveal. Archie Manners, a comedian and magician who has performed high-profile pranks on celebrities and Just Stop Oil activists, has been hired by Resolute 1850, which is planning to change its name to The Centre for a Better Britain.

Campaigners have hit out at the "short-sighted" decision not to include prisoners on indefinite sentences in the plans to reduce the prison population. On Thursday, the government published its long-awaited sentencing review, led by former Conservative justice secretary David Gauke, who recommended that some offenders who behave well in jail only serve a third of their term in custody before being released.

Sir Keir Starmer has refused to say whether Israel is committing genocide in Gaza following warnings from a top UN official. Tom Fletcher, head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, warned the body's security council last week that it must "act now" to "prevent genocide" - a claim that Israel has vehemently denied. He also accused Israel of "deliberately and unashamedly" imposing inhumane conditions on Palestinians by blocking aid from entering Gaza more than 10 weeks ago.
