TULSA, OKLA (KTUL) — A Tulsa man was charged with 23 counts of illegal dog fighting and several other charges after an operation was shut down. According to court documents, the Creek County Sheriff's Office started an investigation in 2024, which led to a search warrant being executed on April 21, 2025, for 43-year-old Julius Deane Griffin's home. Law enforcement seized 17 pit bull-type and other fighter dogs. One dog was dead.

TULSA, OKLA (KTUL) — NewsChannel 8's resident turkey, Thomas, has been ruffling feathers in the station's parking lot. The feathered troublemaker was caught on video causing a commotion as it confronted its own reflection in a truck. Thomas, a familiar face around the area for several years, seemed puzzled by the sight of its reflection. The bird was seen pecking at the truck and pacing back and forth.

MCALESTER, OKLA. (KTUL) — A McAlester man entered a guilty plea to two counts of theft of government property. According to the indictment, on July 22, 2024, 38-year-old Garland Leon Seay is accused of stealing property from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which was valued at over $1,000. The property included an inert training missile, electronic tablets, telescope spotlights, tools, and a Nikon camera. The indictment also alleged Seay stole items between July 2023 and Sept.

A man was arrested for breaking and entering on school property, according to an Oklahoma City Police report. Police responded to Harding Preparatory Charter School on Wednesday around 3:50 p.m. in reference to a loud alarm call. Officers were told a man was seen on security cameras getting out of a white truck on school property and pulling on doors on the campus. Police searched the area and found an unlocked door to the auditorium. A canine unit was called to the scene to help clear the building.
