Most information technology professionals (96%) view artificial intelligence agents as an escalating cybersecurity threat, according to a recent survey conducted by cybersecurity firm SailPoint. About two-thirds of IT executives see the technology posing an immediate risk, while 30% anticipate hazards in the near future. Nearly one in four respondents (23%) said deployed AI agents have inappropriately revealed access credentials.

Salesforce’s new agentic artificial intelligence product known as “Agentforce” has so far generated over 8,000 deals, the company said Wednesday. Agentforce is also now producing $100 million in average order value, CEO Marc Benioff said during an earnings call. “It's much faster than any product in our history, and we are not even fully deployed on all geographies, currencies or languages,” he said. Salesforce is among tech giants whose heavy AI spending is being closely watched by investors.

About one in four companies targeted in a ransomware incident in the last year did not get all their data back after paying the attacker, cybersecurity firm Delinea said in a report released Wednesday. Delinea also found that most ransomware today includes data-theft extortion, with 85% of victims saying they were threatened with having their data published or sold. “Paying the ransom doesn’t always bring the desired results,” Delinea said in the report.
