I went to college back in the 1900s — the previous century. Like many young students, I didn’t fully appreciate or take advantage of the college experience at the time. It’s an honest and understandable reaction, but I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to let these players off the hook so easily. I’m not going to accept that this is as good as it gets. I still believe they can do great things. I still believe they can do things we haven’t seen before. It’s not delusional or disingenuous.

Still apathy/angst surrounding this USMNT, relative to 2026 World Cup. Current USMNT group at Gold Cup has started to claw back some attention. But I never envisioned this type of USMNT doubt and negativity, less than a year before a massive home World Cup opportunity.
