With bright Hollywood skirts, princess gowns and doll-like tunics, the American designer continued his exploration of colour, scale and shape for Fall 2024. It was hard not to see Marilyn Monroe as ‘The Girl’ (read, The Girl) in Billy Wilder’s 1955 film The Seven Year Itch. Jacobs’ halter dress with conical busts, much like the sunray pleated version worn in the film, has a full skirt raised from the right-hand side.
