Glacier FarmMedia – Alberta’s honey industry says bee health is the number-one issue affecting the sector. “Overwinter losses for the past 10 years have averaged about 28 per cent. That is high,” Renata Labuschagne, tech transfer program lead with the Alberta Beekeepers Commission, said during a webinar hosted by Adrienne Herron from the Alberta Agrisystems Living Lab. These losses cost the industry an average of $25.2 million annually.
