MESQUITE — Have you ever wondered what it's like to come face-to-face with scorching flames—or, rescue someone trapped in mangled metal? A lucky few in the City of Mesquite get to experience it through the Citizens Fire Academy. It's an intensive nine-week class that gives regular people in the community hands-on firefighting experience. It's also a highly coveted program.
