    WKU campuses will close Friday, Jan. 10 according to a winter weather alert shared with the WKU community via text, email and social media Thursday evening. All campuses were additionally closed Monday, Jan. 6 and Tuesday, Jan. 7. The National Weather Service’s winter storm warning for Bowling Green will last from Friday at 3 a.m. until Saturday at 6 a.m. due to expected 3 to 5 inches of snowfall.  Online classes are not affected by the closure and will continue as scheduled, according to the alert.

    WKU campuses will remain closed Tuesday, Jan. 7 according to a winter weather alert shared with the WKU community via text, email and social media Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service’s winter storm warning for Bowling Green will last until 6 p.m. on Monday. In a Monday press conference, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear encouraged Kentuckians to stay home to allow utility and transportation workers to restore power and clear roads.

    All WKU campuses are closed Monday, Jan. 6 according to a winter weather alert shared with the WKU community via text, email and social media Sunday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Bowling Green and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency in anticipation of snow and ice accumulations affecting the state. Online classes are not affected by the closure and will continue as scheduled, according to the alert.

    Editor’s note: The Herald has contacted Facilities Management and Housing & Residence Life for information about the steam leak following the email, but has not yet received a response. All campus building heat will be off Wednesday, Dec. 4 starting at 6 a.m. to repair an “emergency steam leak,” according to an email sent by Facilities Management Business Operations Manager Angie Jackson to faculty and staff Thursday afternoon.  No other information about the steam leak was shared.

    The US Post Office operation in the Downing Student Union will close until further notice on Friday to “explore options to provide more comprehensive mail services to campus” according to an email sent by Assistant Vice President of Business Services Jennifer Tougas Wednesday evening to faculty and staff. WKU Mail Services currently offers delivery of incoming and processing of outgoing US Mail, along with collection and distribution of campus mail and Passport Services.
