Queen Elizabeth II's death was one of the most tragic and unexpected events that took place in 2022. Millions who grew up with the royal as the face of the UK went into mourning that day. The Queen had been in ill health leading up to her death, which took her own family by surprise as well. The Buckingham Palace announced the news saying: The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
