Plans to revive speedway racing at a stadium have taken a step forward following a public meeting. The Mildenhall Fen Tigers based at West Row, Suffolk, said they aimed to get back to racing after sitting out of last year's seasons due to "reduced competition". A steering committee to bring speedway back to the Mildenhall Stadium was previously formed and it hoped to adopt a supporters' trust business model.

An economic report has highlighted the "suffering" faced by businesses due to a "not fit for purpose" road. Suffolk Chamber of Commerce released its economic report into the A14 on Friday after repeated incidents caused by collisions and breakdowns. Over 350 businesses were surveyed and 87% of these reported negative impacts from A14 disruptions in the past year. Paul Simon, head of public affairs at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, told the BBC the wider country would suffer if nothing was done.

A timescale to repair a partially collapsed sea wall is yet to be confirmed as investigation works get underway. Two rectangular-shaped sections of the seafront walkway in Southwold, Suffolk, fell inward due to erosion and stormy weather in December. East Suffolk Council's contractor will carry out surveys to ensure there was not any unexploded ordnance, or obstructions, in the area from 20 January for two weeks, ahead of repair works.

A council has announced it will increase car parking prices from April. East Suffolk Council's cabinet met on Tuesday for its annual review of its fees and charges and agreed to invest £1m in its car park infrastructure. However, members also agreed to raise parking costs for the first time since 2020 which Tim Wilson, cabinet member for economic development and transport, said would be in line with inflation.
