A heads up for people who live in the Camp Springs area of southern Prince George’s County. WSCC Water is asking customers to limit their water usage to help avoid a Boil Water Advisory and preserve water in case of a fire. WSCC says crews are currently working to restore water flow to the Camp Springs water tank. The advisory impacts nearly 1,400 customers.

A coyote was shot and killed after police say it attacked two women Thursday during separate attacks in Montgomery County, Maryland. Police, animal services and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources were all searching for the coyote following the two separate attacks which took place hours apart, according to the police department.

One person has critical injuries and more than 20 people are displaced after an intense fire that broke out at an apartment complex in D.C.It happened just before noon at a three-story apartment building on 13th Place and Peabody Street in Northwest. D.C. Fire and EMS said the blaze appeared to be coming from the basement of the building. Firefighters used ladders to rescued five people from the top floors.

A man was wounded during a shooting in Montgomery County, Maryland, Monday that caused four nearby schools to temporarily shelter in place as a precaution. It happened around 11:45 a.m. on Lost Knife Circle, near Montgomery Village Middle School, Watkins Mill Elementary, Stedwick Elementary and Whetstone Elementary, Montgomery County police said. The schools’ shelter-in-place order was in place for more than an hour but it has since been lifted.

In Virginia, the City of Alexandria is looking into renaming six streets with ties to the confederacy. It’s part of a new proposed process by Mayor Justin Wilson to rename streets with Confederate references. “Our predecessors used street naming policies as a form of permanent protest against the burgeoning civil rights movement and growing political power for African-Americans. As a symbol, these honors persist today, honoring virulent racists, many of whom took up arms against our nation.
