Alicia Mazzara is the Director of Strategy and Equity in Public Policy. In this role, she works closely with the VP of Housing and Income Security and the Chief Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Officer to oversee strategic initiatives that advance equity and justice-oriented public policy and strengthen internal team culture and belonging. She works within the Housing and Income Security team and across the Center’s policy teams to develop learning opportunities, frameworks, strategies, and best practices that infuse equity and justice-aligned practices into their policy, advocacy, research, and cross-cutting work functions. She also supports team work planning, culture building, fundraising, and day-to-day Housing and Income Security team management. Prior to joining the Center in 2015, Mazzara was a Policy Advisor in Third Way’s Economic Program, where her research centered on income inequality, labor market dynamics, and workforce development. She has also spent time working in the federal government and as a Research Associate at the Pew Charitable Trusts. Mazzara has a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from Carleton College and a Master of Public Policy from George Washington University. Source
