Bolton boxer Khaleel Majid proved he has what it takes to become a champion one day with yet another victory in front of his home crowd in Bolton. Majid, a 27-year-old super lightweight, beat opponent Alin Florin Ciorceri live Channel 5 at the Toughsheet Stadium recently. It is now 13 straight wins as a professional in the bag for the Heaton-born fighter under Eddie Hearn’s Wasserman Boxing, and on home turf Majid had the entire room full of his own supporters.

Bolton School students (Image: Bolton School) Bolton School’s Girls Division has showcased a successful year of charity, raising £20,000 for charity. Each year group has contributed in their own unique way at Bolton School throughout the academic year. Year 7 held a silence, raising nearly £3,000 for toy donations to the Bolton Lions Toy Appeal at Christmas. This ensured that children from struggling families received gifts when they might not have otherwise.

It follows the sale of the disused Bank Street Chapel in Bolton, with the Dissolution Council choosing the Bolton NHS Charity and the Haematology Day Unit as one of twenty recipients for donations from the proceeds.

Grace Collard runs Grace Makes, a funky earrings business in Horwich. Designs include coffins, gummy bears, snakes, Taylor Swift, deck cards, cowboy hats and other "weird" designs.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team out to help public at events

The Bolton Mountain Rescue Team have had a busy start to the summer. Members have been on standby at events both in and around Bolton to react to any emergency. At the Mountain Bike Madness event in Leverhulme Park, the team ensured the safety of 120 people taking part. At an event for the Horwich RMI Harriers, the team oversaw the safety of 100 runners especially as this was an 8.4km course.

The lights on Trinity Street just outside Bolton Train Station are currently off, leading drivers to hesitantly approach the junction. Some drivers are slowly moving to the other side while others remain in a queue. One witness said: "The traffic lights on the junction were off, you could see drivers were hesitant to cross it.
